Leeds Bradford Airport strike, 16 to 18 October: what happens to your flight
About 130 Unite members at Leeds Bradford Airport, including air traffic control, security, customer service staff and cleaners, plan to strike from early on Friday 16 October to Sunday 18 October 2026, in a dispute over pay. Unite says no flights could fly in or out without air traffic control. The airport says it expects to run near-normal operations.
The dispute could still be settled before the strike starts. Check with your airline and the airport closer to the day.

Who it affects
- Every airline flying into or out of Leeds Bradford
Are you owed money? Probably not, but you have rights
Strikes by airport or air traffic control staff are usually treated as outside the airline's control, so fixed compensation is unlikely. But if your flight is cancelled the airline must still offer you a full refund or a new flight, and if you are stuck waiting it must provide food, drink and a hotel if you need one overnight. Keep every receipt.
